Take a moment to think what the Merrimack River Watershed means to you. Your watershed gives you water for drinking, fishing, and boating. You get water for your gardens, for your pots and pans, for bathing and swimming.
Your watershed supports critical wildlife habitat, generates renewable energy, and creates jobs. It drives tourism, increases property values, and helps stimulate the local economy. And it connects us no matter where you fall on the map, as the saying goes, we all live downstream. Your watershed is the link that joins you, your family, and your neighbors through the choices that you make every day.
As the voice of this shared natural resource, the Merrimack River Watershed Council is honored to celebrate our 35th anniversary in 2011. For more than three decades and with only a small staff, a team of committed volunteers, and an engaged board, the MRWC has worked to preserve and protect the health of the Merrimack River in Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. And yet, as our communities become increasingly developed, the work we do has never been more important or necessary.
But in order to continue to serve our community to
advocate for clean rivers, a sustainable water supply, and a healthy ecosystem we need your help.
Now, like so many times before, we are calling on you our members, neighbors, supporters, and friends. It is critical work that we are engaged in together. Help us continue our efforts by making a donation to the MRWC Annual Fund today.
